Drainage Cell
A drainage cell is a type of lightweight, three-dimensional geocomposite that is commonly used for subsurface water management. It consists of a flat back that is pressed against an underground structure, and its placement is secured by the pressure exerted by backfilled soils.The core of the drainage cell is made of polypropylene and is molded into a unique shape. This core is then wrapped in a filtration geotextile. The purpose of the filtration geotextile is to cover the drainage core and allow the unrestricted flow of moisture into the core while preventing the passage of soil particles that could potentially clog the core.
Drainage cells offer several advantages over traditional drainage methods. They are lightweight, easy to use, and cost-effective. They are also highly versatile and can be used for various horizontal and vertical drainage applications, such as in gardens, landscapes, terraces, pavers, and subterranean buildings.
