What is geomembrane?
2024-11-21 22:31Geomembrane is a geotextile anti-seepage material composed of plastic film as the anti-seepage substrate and non-woven fabric composite. The anti-seepage performance of the new material geotextile mainly depends on the anti-seepage performance of the plastic film. The plastic films used for anti-seepage applications both domestically and internationally mainly include polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyethylene (PE), and EVA (ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer). In tunnel applications, ECB (ethylene vinyl acetate modified asphalt blend geomembrane) is also designed for use. They are a polymer chemical flexible material with a small specific gravity, strong extensibility, high adaptability to deformation, corrosion resistance, low temperature resistance, and good frost resistance.
Geomembrane is a waterproof and barrier material based on high molecular weight polymers.
Mainly divided into: low-density polyethylene (LDPE) geomembrane, high-density polyethylene (HDPE) geomembrane, and EVA geomembrane.
1. The width and thickness specifications are complete.
2. It has excellent resistance to environmental stress cracking and chemical corrosion.
3. Excellent chemical corrosion resistance.
4. It has a wide range of operating temperatures and a long service life.
5. Used for landfill sites, tailings storage sites, channel anti-seepage, dam anti-seepage, and subway engineering, etc
The main mechanism is to use the impermeability of plastic film to block the leakage channel of the earth dam, and to withstand water pressure and adapt to dam deformation with its high tensile strength and elongation; And non-woven fabric is also a type of polymer short fiber chemical material, which has high tensile strength and extensibility through needle punching or thermal bonding. When combined with plastic film, it not only increases the tensile strength and puncture resistance of the plastic film, but also increases the friction coefficient of the contact surface due to the rough surface of non-woven fabric, which is conducive to the stability of composite geomembrane and protective layer. At the same time, they have good corrosion resistance to bacteria and chemical reactions, are not afraid of acid, alkali, and salt erosion, and have a long service life when used in the dark.
