Construction of Textured Geomembrane

The construction of textured geomembrane is a complex and delicate process. The following is a detailed introduction to the construction of rough surface geomembrane:

Preparation before construction

· Material inspection:

Ensure that the quality of the rough surface geomembrane meets the design requirements, and that the surface is free of oil stains, chemical spots, wrinkles, and cracks.

According to the engineering requirements, choose the appropriate type of rough surface geomembrane, such as single rough surface or double rough surface.

· Base treatment:

Clean up debris, sharp objects, etc. in the construction area to ensure that the base surface is flat and free of irregularities.

Compact the base surface to ensure its compactness meets the requirements.

The base surface should be dry and free of accumulated water to avoid affecting the laying effect of the geomembrane.

· Construction tools and equipment:

Prepare the necessary tools and equipment for construction, such as hot melt welding machines, cutting blades, brushes, measuring tools, and fixators.

Laying of rough surface geomembrane

· Rough surface layer laying:

Lay a rough surface layer on the soil surface, which can be made of crushed stones, broken bricks, gravel, etc.

The thickness of the rough surface layer is generally 10-15 cm, and it should be laid evenly to ensure no significant height difference.

· Laying of geomembrane:

Lay rough geomembrane on the rough surface layer, paying attention to whether the rough surface of the geomembrane should face upwards or downwards according to the design requirements and actual situation.

When laying, it should be carried out in one direction to avoid artificial wrinkles and ensure that the geomembrane is tightly adhered to the base surface.

During the laying process, heavy objects such as sandbags should be used to press down on the geomembrane to prevent it from being blown by the wind.

· Cutting and splicing:

Cut the rough surface geomembrane according to the actual size. Before cutting, each piece of geomembrane should be numbered and the relevant dimensions recorded.

At the location where splicing is required, hot melt welding technology or specialized adhesive bonding technology is used to connect different segments of geomembrane together. The joint should be flat, tight, and free of virtual welding, leakage welding, and other phenomena.

Fixing and backfilling

· Fixed processing:

Use long wooden stakes or fixings to secure the edges of the rough surface geomembrane to the ground, ensuring that the geomembrane is not blown up by wind or washed away by water.

· Backfilling work:

After the installation of the rough surface geomembrane is completed, backfilling work shall be carried out. Backfilling should be carried out in layers, and the thickness and compaction of each layer of fill should meet the design requirements.

When backfilling soil, it is necessary to avoid damaging the rough surface geomembrane.

Construction precautions

· Environmental requirements:

The construction environment temperature should be suitable, and construction should be avoided at temperatures that are too low or too high.

During construction in rainy, snowy, and windy weather, feasible measures should be taken and confirmed by the owner's representative before construction can proceed.

· Welding quality:

Before welding, the welding surface should be cleaned to ensure that there are no oil stains, dust, or other debris.

When welding, a generator with good voltage regulation performance should be used for power supply to ensure welding quality.

After welding is completed, quality inspection should be carried out on the weld seam to ensure that it meets the design requirements.

· Construction efficiency and safety:

Reasonably plan the construction process and improve construction efficiency.

During the construction process, attention should be paid to safe operation, wearing protective equipment to avoid accidents.

Post construction maintenance

· Regular inspection:

Regularly inspect the rough surface geomembrane to check for any damage, cracking, or other issues.

· Timely repair:

If any damage or cracking is found in the rough surface geomembrane, it should be repaired or replaced in a timely manner.

· Cleaning and maintenance:

Regularly clean the debris and dust on the surface of the rough geomembrane to maintain its cleanliness and roughness.
